Chapter 11
Abayomi's house was larger on the inside than it appeared from the outside. Upon entering, the first thing they found was a very distinctive living-dining room, both separated only by a long cream-colored counter. The walls were painted in warm tones, and the light streaming in through the windows made it seem like they were in flames.
They had to admit that the couple had a good taste in decorating; the furniture perfectly matched the rest of the house. There was something that caught their attention: the dining area consisted of a table at ground level surrounded by several cushions serving as chairs.
Maya directed them to the dining area. The table was already set, and warm steam rose from a teapot placed in the center of the room. Elizabeth couldn't help but look around; every place she gazed at was covered with paintings, maps, family photos, and landscapes.
