Chapter 16

"Light beautiful," Julian said, breaking the silence that had settled between them. "I feel like I've traveled back in time and met Isis in person," he admitted, flashing a shy smile that Elizabeth had not seen until that moment.

She felt her legs trembling; for a moment, she was afraid of falling there, amidst all those people. She forced her body to calm down and spoke in a calm voice, masking the turmoil inside her.

"Thank you very much, you look very handsome too," she confessed, raising her head to look at him due to the height difference.

A mischievous smile crossed Julian's face, and suddenly he leaned towards her and took one of her hands, leading her to the center of the bonfire, where a few people were dancing on the makeshift dance floor.

"Do you dance?" he asked in a playful tone that made Elizabeth roll her eyes, trying to appear disinterested.

"With you?" she asked in the same tone. "Of course, although I don't know how to dance to this musi
