“You’d end up paying him damages.”
“Or I let him make the movie and he drops the case.”
“Cocoon.”
“I agree. I’ve already had Charles inform him that I’ll pay compensation. I can’t predict the amount, of course, but my bank account is fine—and I’m not someone who gives in to blackmail.”
I shudder.
“What a mess.”
“At least there’s good news. Charles tells me Ollie and Cass are working hard. He thinks franchising is a solid business and she’s doing the right consulting. She’s doing her homework—taking a leap, but safely.”
“Yes, that is good news.”
He tells me who else he’s chatted with as we continue down the stone path. We’ve gone quite a way before I realize Marcus has to work. When I scold him for slacking off, he laughs.
“I still have a few minutes left in my hour off. Besides, I’m headed to my next task.”
“Which is?”
He looks at me, expressionless.
