Chapter 114. Crazy Idea

It felt like a huge hollow in my chest suddenly appeared, and I walked with everyone seeing it. It’s been a week since that day in the hospital, and I go to work with eyes following me.
If I could count all the ‘condolences’ I ever received for seven years, I bet it would reach a million. From text messages, emails from clients, sent flowers, personal greetings, social media posts and radio announcements.
It’s overwhelming, all of that. It’s too heavy and huge to bear.
“Sir, Miss Olivia’s here.”
Philip knocked on my office door and told me some good news. It’s the first time he did that, knocking. I guess when you’re mourning, everyone around you changes to not get into your nerves. At some angle, it’s good.
“Send her in, Philip. Thank you.”
And not long after, Olivia appeared at the door with a small box in her grasp.
“Hey…” she said, with the empathetic eyes I keep on seeing with everyone else.
