Chapter 127. Verbal Damage

Olivia came out of the comfort room looking uneasy. She was walking briskly to the car, and I leaned to the right so I could open the door on the passenger’s seat.
“Hey, you okay?” I inquired. She looked panicked.
“Yeah… let’s just go,” she said and put on the seat belt. My gaze fell on her hands, and I noticed that she was shivering. I frowned and grabbed her hand.
“Honey… what happened?”
She gulped then bit her lower lips. I’m sure she’s deliberating whether or not it’s safe to tell me.
“Come on. You can tell me whatever it is.”
But then, suddenly, she didn’t need to. The window on the passenger’s seat was still open, so when I heard a loud slam of the door from outside, I looked at its source. Then, I understood a little why my girlfriend’s uneasy.
Olivia saw me stilled and traced my line of sight.
“Wait here, honey,” I said, and before Olivia could stop me, I opened the door to my side and hopped off.
