The entire office felt like a library when Dylan left. Anton was pacing here and there, his arm across his chest. Dad was reviewing the documents with a noticeable frown on his face. As I entered, they only gave me a short look and then I got ignored.
Among the three of us, I’m sure I’m the only one brave enough to point out the obvious.
“Dylan’s doing this for spite,” I said and two pairs of eyes looked up at me.
Anton stopped walking. Dad paused and closed his folder. He intertwined his fingers on the table.
“He’s a son of a bitch, that’s what he is,” Anton pointed out.
I shrugged. The talk he and I had a while ago at the gate only signified my theory. He didn’t really need the lot; he could have any lot in the city, even in the whole world. His net worth can cover that. Why this one? Why ours?
