Chapter 13. Lies

Kelly sleeps peacefully in bed, I watch her sleep, her chest rising and falling, her lips half-open, her cheek flattened against the pillow, her eyes almost open, then I realize that Gabriela did the same, I remember when one day, after having sex, she slept with me, and when I woke up, the first thing I saw was her, staring at me, watching me.
Is that what love is all about? To look at the person you love, the one you love just for the fun of it? To observe their details? To know even their slightest fear? So Gabriela, if she loved me, Gabriela loved me.
I leave the room and go to my office, there I look for that record she gave me when we had known each other for three months. I never listened to it, I never gave myself the real importance of knowing what its content was. However, I won't do it now either, it's not as if it would win or change anything.
I take my cell phone, which I still have in my pants pocket, and dial G
