Chapter 36. Escape from the Kingdom
“You are heavier than I thought…”
I looked up at the face that caught me in his hands. The first thing I saw is the glowing brown eyes of Uriel. He was smiling down at me, and even if the perfumes still do not exist in this timeline, he smelled good naturally, like he just bathed himself with a lot of cinnamon leaves.
“Why are you sniffing me?” he asked curiously.
That is when I realized that my nose was doing its business on his shirt. I got paralyzed, but I did my best to push his chest and removed myself from his arms. When I was on the ground already, I faced him with an obvious reddened face because of fluster.
“Thank you for your kind gesture, but I would rather fall to the ground than be carried by you,” I said, awkwardly cleared my throat, and fixed my bag on my shoulder.
“Really?” he said and tilted his head like teasing me. “Sniffing me says something else, though.”
“Really,” I said and rolled my eyes.
