Chapter 39. The Stern Talk

Madeline's POV

Victor and Uriel pulled three chairs and put them into the middle of the stern of the ship. While crossing my arms, I watched the two of them like I was the boss. Uriel grabbed one of the chairs and gave it to me bluntly. We silently glared at each other. 

“Marissa, Uriel…” Victor called us in an authoritative voice. 

I regarded my best friend. “What? I am not even doing anything!” I defended with my hands raising and sat on my chair like I was a defendant. 

Uriel did not say anything and just went to another chair to sit on. Victor shook his head in dismay and lastly sit on his chair. The wind from the sea breeze past through us, and no matter how I take it seriously, our silence was just too dramatic, so I smirked. I only read this in books, and I can’t believe that I am dealing with this shit right now. 

“Okay, where do we start?” I asked in the middle of the silence. “Should I do the inception?”&nb
