Chapter 26. Doggy Style

Zoe's POV“Have you fixed all your clothes?” Adams held my hand as I surveyed the entirety of my apartment. I have also lived here for almost two years, and leaving it is still heavy on my chest. I feel it would be better not to think that I'm giving up here just because someone wants to mess with my life again.

I was dragging the last suitcase when I looked up at him and nodded. Likewise, I smiled and also tightened his grip on my hand. We left the apartment, then returned the key to the landlord. However, before we left, the landlord spoke to me.

“It's a pity, and you're leaving.” She put the key in her pocket, then looked at Adams. “I thought your boyfriend was the man who was always waiting here in your room, not this man.” She poked my side, but my heart enveloped the fear. Adams could figure out what she was saying.

Adams turned to me with a weak smile as if to say who this old man was referring to. I shrugged and acted like I didn't know either and replied to
