Chapter 8. Leo
Narrator Perspective
Leo closed his eyes and inhaled as he sat in the dimly lit hotel room. He raised his head when the door opened, annoyed as some sunlight penetrated the dark room. His eyes blinked as they adjusted to the brightness.
“What is this, Victor?” He frowned as he held the phone his subordinate showed him.
“That is a picture of an amulet that belongs to a rival confraternity we encountered last night,” Victor said. Leo frowned as he ran his callused fingers across the phone surface and zoomed in on the image. It looked like a shield with a carved-out symbol of an eye in the centre. So, he thought, while I have been away, novices dare to make themselves rivals? His lips formed a cruel smirk as he thought of all the ways to end their pathetic lives or at least make them suffer for their foolishness.
“What are they called?”
“I do not know, but they are claiming their territory.”
“My territory.” He snap
