Chapter 54

George's POV 

I threw punches on multiple men, all at once. Five out of the eight were badly injured, two ran while one still stood here with his knife, strategizing. 

"We want reinforcement!" I heard the running guys say to each other. I thought everything was okay, we used this chance to dress up and leave immediately when the entrance of our estate got blocked by more men. 

I grabbed Mary so tight. Our eyes flashed in fright, out of their midst, I saw Geoffrey Richards, he's the chief judge here. My lips hung loose. 

"What's going on here?" I asked. 

"As per the king's order, Mary has been instructed to come with us, to be tried and convicted!" He said with a grin. 

He turned, gesturing to his men. "Get her!"
