Chapter 19. The Conspiracy

“Oliver bent his head in remorse and shame when it dawned on him that his daughter had truly done what he didn't have the gut to do despite his strength. 

“If she stays here with us, it will be to what end? Lucas will never let her leave this pack. Didn't you see the way Jake was behaving? Does he look like a wolf who doesn't want his mate? If they should find Megan, they will bring her back and make her Jake's concubine. Is that the life you want for her?” Alaric rained questions Oliver couldn't answer. 

Oliver realized that, truly, he wasn't using his head. He was letting his emotions lead him around by the nose since last night. Oliver realized that he wasn't worried about Megan running away. What he feared was not being able to protect her. 

Oliver heaved then nodded. 

"I understand now. But it is dangerous. What if something happens to her?” Oliver struggled with the truth. 

“She is not as weak as you think.” Alaric rolled
