Chapter 21. You Promised!

Once they settled inside the cave, the panther was butchered by Ryan. 

He went to get some strong tree branches, dug the ground around the fire pit and stuck the poles made from those branches into the ground. Thereafter, he made some more poles with sharpened tips, which he pierced through the meat before laying them across the fire he had made.

While he was doing that, Megan was also helping by cooking some canned beans and rice in a corner of the warm and cozy cave. While the food was cooking, Megan, who had held her curiosity at bay, decided to ask questions about the relationship between Ryan and her grandfather. Not hiding anything from her, Ryan told her of how it was only her grandfather who accepted him and interacted with him in the first six months of his arrival at Blue-Mist. Of how Alaric took him hunting and showed him several places in the realm. Ryan and Alaric had been to the human realms more than five times, and they even slept in this cave twice.
