Chapter 39. Leaving Baril

KuLaa snapped her right-hand fingers, and Megan spontaneously blinked. The spell had broken, and she was now aware of her surroundings.

Megan turned her head and saw Ryan on the floor. Her eyebrows creased because she didn't understand why Ryan was oozing fear and sickening terror.

“Ryan?” She squatted to his face level. “What is wrong?” Megan asked.

“I have been expecting you for days, Megan Williams. What took you so long?” KuLaa turned away and asked as she returned to her seat.

“I didn't know you were waiting for me, KuLaa. How did you know me? What did you do to my husband?” Megan asked with confusion written all over her face.

Ryan, who had crashed to the floor to beg for Megan's life, was shocked by this. Not only was Megan okay, she was sounding confident and there was no fear in her aura. It was as if she didn't know who KuLaa was.

KuLaa turned her gaze on Ryan, and he felt his scalp tingling.
