Chapter 45. The Tragedy of Lockwood!

“Who broke the rules?” KuLaa stared at the family of four standing before her and asked. 

The room was cold to the point where even Ryan and Megan were having a hard time standing still. Amoux and Ainar on the other hand were shivering uncontrollably. As a mother devoted to her kids, Megan couldn't take it anymore. She stepped in front of the two kids who were huddled together trying to keep each other warm. 

“KuLaa, please!” Megan begged with shattering teeth. KuLaa glared at her and Megan felt her heart freezing over. Instantly realizing what KuLaa was about to do, Ryan instantly stepped in front of his wife. “No, KuLaa, don't hypnotize my wife. I don't know if anyone broke any rules, but since I am the head of this family, and have received your unreserved kindness and yet allowed this to happen, then please, punish me. Punish me in whatever way you want, but leave my wife and kids alone.” Ryan looked intently into KuLaa's cold, serpentine eyes as he spoke.
