Third-Person POV
“I need another job,” Katie announced, storming into the room like she had just returned from war.
The whole room uprooted into a round of laughter.
It had become a norm for Katie to return from work complaining about one thing or the other. And more often than not, she was always at fault although she would never admit it.
“Seriously, it wasn’t my fault this time. I was totally innocent.”
“Yeah, right,” one of the women scoffed.
The barely adult’s tantrums and trouble-seeking behavior had become an open secret.
“Katie, I want to get some sleep. I’d appreciate it if you keep things down,” another of the older roommates spoke before turning to face the wall.
On seeing that no one was ready to hear her rants, Katie turned to the one person she knew wouldn’t have the heart to turn her away.
