Chapter 26. You’re Having a Girl

Hannah’s POV

“What a jerk!” Those were the first words to leave Katie’s mouth after my narration.

She didn’t stop there. “And that bitch Celine, I’m sure this is also her doing. She said something to him. Damn, you should have let me deal with the ugly thing,” she added, clashing her knuckles together to show her regret.

I wiped another drop of tears off my red, puffy face. Yes, I cried in the shower. It was a miracle I held myself together throughout work and on my way home.

Katie looked at me with pity. “Poor girl. I wonder how the Browns were able to birth such a monster. How could he say such horrible things to you?”

I don’t know why he would. He never replies to my greetings, and the first time he speaks to me, he has to be so horrible.
