Chapter 56. The Edmunds
Blake’s POV
Delphine turned out to be right. I was gone as soon as my back hit the bed. And didn’t wake up for the next few hours.
By the time Drew decided to wake me, it was past sunset, and we had a dinner to attend.
“Mother’s planned an outdoor dinner. You’re going to love it,” Andrew rattled on while we made our way through the house.
Drew was right. The night sky was so clear and beautiful.
We arrived just in time.
“If it isn’t the future mayor,” a young lady teased immediately she saw Andrew.
He laughed.
Her eyes met my figure, and she immediately gasped. “Oh my goodness, Blake. It’s nice to finally meet you,” she spoke rapidly while leaving a kiss on the cheek.
The light bulb in my head came on immediately.
Cressida.
I managed a smile. “Hi, you must be Cressida.”
She smiled proudly. “Yes. You’re as beautiful as in the pictures.” Turning to her brother, she said, “Well done, brother.”
