Sitting in the office that evening, I worked faster and eagerly as I checked the time each second. I couldn’t wait to go home to see Lena, it was as if I couldn’t survive her without her by my side anymore.

My phone rang on my desk and I glanced at it from the corner of my eyes to see that it was Yvonne calling.

“What now?” I muttered to myself before answering the phone and putting it on speaker.

“Alpha Lucas, I sent an email that we were having dinner together to discuss the next step of the project but why did you send your general manager here instead?” she asked in a sweet voice that sounded so unpleasant to my ears.

I picked the phone from my desk and leaned back into my chair. “I’m trying to figure out the problem here. Is there anything wrong with sending my general manager when your company is sending you to represent them?”
