When I saw the pictures scattered on the ground, I was a bit surprised because I didn’t even remember where I kept them. But Lena’s hurt expression was imprinted in my mind.

I wanted to explain or say anything that would clear whatever misunderstanding she was having but I didn’t even know what to say. I just watched her bolt out of the room.

That night, I was awake the entire time but she didn’t come back to the bedroom. Her alluring scent was all over the room, making it impossible for me not to miss her presence.

I made my way out of the room and met Katilyn walking down the hallway. “Where is my wife?”

“She locked herself in the guest room.”

I nodded at her and made my way to the guest room. I raised my hand to knock but I stopped myself.
