I did not even want to think about Sam or Emma.
So, I brushed her cheek gently, leaned in and pressed my lips against her forehead as long as I could, and left her office.
It made sense now why Sam would be scared that Olivia was out to destroy her. And God, was she lucky that Olivia was the one seeking revenge! Now I couldn't interfere.
When I opened the door to my office, I was startled to see Dean sitting there.
But my legs continued to move, even as my brain struggled to puzzle out all that my eyes took in. The man was half gone. I had not seen him since the day of the reunion, and right now, he looked, looked…broken.
Yes, that was the word.
His eyes were shadowed and shifty, his skin ashen, and the corner of his lips worked restlessly.
