Chapter 171. I Trust the Affair Has Ended?

“What?” I frowned, and heard Colt behind me. 

“Dean, come on to your office,” he said coaxingly, and I turned to see him nodding at the CEO of Omnexa. “We were done anyway. Further instructions concerning future meetings will be communicated.” 

He took the man's hand in a firm handshake, as the man stared at him slack-jawed, apparently still as shocked as every other person.

“It was a pleas…” The CEO started to say when Dean's voice rented the room again. 

“No.” He yelled so loudly beside me that I jumped. But then I stared up at him with gritted teeth.

“Get a hold of yourself.” I gritted, and his eyes flashed. My heart skipped a beat because, for a second, I thought he would hit me here in public.

But his shoulders slumped, and he said, “I am not crazy, honey. Go take a look.” He groaned this last word out as he seemed to cave into himself, despair in his eyes.
