The hot sun was starting to relent outside the window, the world crossing the borders from noon to even.
He looked up from the armchair he was sitting with an affected breath intake, “Keep calling me that baby, just that.”
I smiled, aching to stand up and kiss him, but I was exhausted, my legs weak noodles. “Could you pick up a prescription for me? My doctor just sent it in.”

“My birth control pills,” I responded, and his brows came together. I chewed my lip at the sudden mood switch as his face began to darken.
“I left the house with just my phone,” I explained, and he stood up, crossing the floor quickly. He grabbed my face and tilted my head back to kiss me.
“I’m not blaming you. I just don’t like you bearing the whole responsibility for this,” he whispered gently, caressing my cheeks with his thumbs.
