I stared at him. It made sense, my brain chalked it as plausible, but for whatever reason, I felt no desire to continue this conversation.
I felt too raw, my emotions shaken up. I was probably in one of those bratty head-spaces where I wanted to sulk, because how could he stay away from me this whole time?
“We’ll speak some other time, Colt.” I said now, “I need air.”
He agreed too quickly, and this pricked me even more.
I wanted him to say no like he usually would, I wanted him to hold me and tell me I did not get to decide if he left or not.
But he said, “Ok Sonsy.”
I felt him leaving me, not just the physical walking away, but emotional too.
With a clenched jaw and trembling lips, I pulled my phone out of my purse,
