Axel stared with wide eyes, pulling me closer as I heard Torrin’s boots approaching, a loud stomp like that day at the bar.

I spun around, standing beside Axel, holding the paper bag and my purse in a tight clutch. 

Toriin stopped before us, his eyes running down Axel, then with a smile, he stretched his hand out.

“You must be Axel.”

“Who is this?” Axel whispered to me, and I shook my head, not sure how to introduce Torrin.
