Becca's POV

When I hung up the call, I noticed that my mother was pressing my shoulders with a slight excitement. I turned to look into the space between the front seats, and found her with a malicious expression on her face.

"You didn't tell me that you called your boss, who paid for your first-class trip, by name. "She smiled, moving her eyebrows. I laughed when she started imitating my voice in a squeaky tone. "Jack that, Jack that. Thank you, Jack. Of course, Jack. Jokes with Jack. Jack, Jack, and Jack.”

"Mom, for God's sake, he himself demanded this kind of treatment," I explained, because even Raphael was laughing at my mother's tone of voice. "He is dear to all the employees. Besides, part of his team is made up of women, so he acquired an affectionate way of treating all of us. It doesn't mean that he has any interest in me.”

"Do you have an interest in him?”

"No, mom. I haven't been involved with anyone in... like, years.”

“ Liar.”
