Her eyes were welling up and he was sure he did not want a wailing woman behind closed doors with him early in the day when he ought to be heading out to attend to the business of the day.
“Look, Jenna. Stop acting like you are daft. You are not. I forgive you, but I don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore. It’s that simple. You were with another man and it does not make me mad, because you are a grown woman and you know what you want and who it is you want to be with.”

“That is okay. I was going to leave when you came in, Jenna. I’m glad you stopped by. Have a good day,” he said as he took quick long strides to the door, reached it, and held it open for her to leave.
