“It’s just a week, Alicia. You can keep up with her.” She rubbed her forehead and packed her hair in a messy bun.
Helen was still mad at her over such a trivial matter.
“You better make peace with her, you know how she can be,” Tony said, totally forgetting that they were accompanied by Reynolds. Alicia bothered to say nothing; they believed he helped them—let it stay that way for a while.
“Heyy… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap.” She met Helen lying on the bed with her novel reading. Helen was also wearing study glasses.
Alicia sat on the bed close to her head.
“Snap? You didn’t. Of course not.” Helen turned to lay on her side, facing the wall.
“Don’t be like that. I know I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way and I apologize. I’m sorry. Huh?” She ran her fingers through her hair.
“You’re not even married to him yet, and you’re already taking his side. What would you do when you’re married? Disown me?”
