Chapter 67
Clayton was focused on his phone, also on a call with his PA discussing what was unclear to Ruth. Her mind was clouded with thoughts that nothing made sense of the conversation he was having. Clay sat on the same couch with her, while Abigail and Hughes were both seated adjacently to both of them.
“You have lovely hair. How do you keep them so shiny and silky? Mine is always so tough to handle.”
“My hair is naturally silky, and about the shiny… I use just conditioner, Mrs. West.”
“Trust me, I have tried. And yes, call me Abigail.”
“You do have lovely hair, and your skin is amazing.” Ruth and Abigail were getting along like old-time friends. Ruth was relaxed with the conducive and interactive conversations.
Hughes walked back in again.
“No business calls today, Clay. Put it away.” Clayton was a grown man, but his parents treated him like a teenager sometimes.
Clayton ended the call and they were all back to their conversation again.
