The machine shot upward with us wrapped together.
I felt the world spinning beneath us.
I kept screaming.
“Open your eyes!” Leo yelled.
I shook my head violently. Absolutely not. Zero chance.
“Baby, trust me—open your eyes!”
I shook my head again.
There was a drop, a spin, and another rise.
I screamed again—this time from excitement, not fear.
The butterflies in my stomach burst free just as sudden, warm lips pressed against mine.
My eyes flew open.
Leo was kissing me.
“You finally opened your eyes,” he murmured, grinning.
My hand flew to his face. “Leo—your mask! You pulled it off!”
“I don’t think anyone recognized me yet. Don’t worry—my security is down there. We’re safe,” he said calmly.
I chuckled nervously, scanning the crowd below to see if I could spot the security.
Some people were admiring. Some… disappointed? Some completely shocked.
“Hang on,” he whispered
