Chapter 24. The Man
I expected to feel it on my waist, but he let them hover behind the latter instead. How very polite.
As we danced, it was as if the song was made specifically for us.
Even when other dancers started to join us, it seemed to me like Christopher and I were the only ones in the hall.
“I noticed you the moment you walked in. Your elegance stroke my heart’s pleasure,” he whispers. His voice is deep, rolling past my ears to my chest and my stomach, sparking butterflies. “I’m Christopher. Other people call me Chris. But I like to hear it in full.”
“Tara…” I nearly stammer. “Tara Charles.”
“Wonderful. How did you come to know about this ball. It’s my first time seeing you.”
“I do a lot of research when it comes to art.”
Christopher nods. “I love that. Music and dance are my forte. They kept me alive until I met you.” He smiles. Funny how I instantly fall into a daze
