Chapter 52. Forever, My Love

Those words ring a harsh bell in my head, blowing out smoke that instantly pisses me off. “What color is your shame, Zeath?”

The man looks down, letting go of my arm. “I’m sorry.”

“You know what? Sleeping with you may have been the biggest mistake I’ve ever made after marrying you. I thought I learned my lesson, but then I kissed you in your office. That too is another mistake. You—” My phone rings. It’s Eryis’s coach. “Just… leave me alone, please.”

I alight the car and make to the cab while answering the call.

‘Did you take Eryis with you, ma’am?’ the lady asks.

“No, I didn’t. Why?

‘I’m sorry, ma’am, but we can’t find her.’

My throat immediately glides down to my stomach, the latter churning as my bones turn weak.
