Chapter 59. A Bold, Flat Line
I kiss her forehead as she slowly falls asleep again. Then I take Zeath by the wrist and lead him out of the room to the waiting area.
We sit side by side in the couch. Watching him man-spread, I’m tempted to sit on him; claim his laps as my personal couch. But then that’d be going too far.
“How about Nectar, and Yolie; how are they taking the divorce?” I ask.
Zeath seems tense; bothered, but he still replies, “they both left the country. Due to the crisis, I’ve been unable to contact them, though.”
I nod repeatedly, not knowing what next to say.
Come to think of it, I dragged Zeath out of Eryis room because I had the irresistible urge to spend some time with him. But now I have nothing to say.
