Fallon’s POV
The dining hall went silent. Not a chatter, no sound of forks making contact with plates. Just silence. I took a deep breath and walked towards a table. Ashley was there along with some familiar faces. They stared, all eyes watching me carefully.
As soon as I sat down, every blood bag at the table dispersed except Ashley. Her eyes held pity for me.
“It’s okay. You can go, I understand,” I told her.
She didn’t say a word; instead, she passed me the salad. We shared a smile, and the whispers began.
