Fallon’s POV
“You look gorgeous,” Nathan said from behind me.
I nervously admired myself in the mirror. I looked good, but I couldn’t shake the nervousness away.
Dinner with the Valentines. I had not been in a room with more than three people for years. This would be my first time having contact with a crowd, especially as a vampire.
What if something went wrong, and I charged at one of their many human companions?
As if sensing my thoughts, Nathan walked closer to me.
“There’s no need to be nervous, Fallon. Everything will be great.”
His hands traced my bare arms in comfort.
As usual, he managed to make me feel at ease like he’s been doing for the past years.
My thoughts skipped back to when I first woke up in my dark room.
Everything in me was in pain, especially my head that felt like someone was hammering into it.
I couldn’t remember a thing; I couldn’t think but only felt pain.
