Fallon’s POV
Like a shadow, I moved around unnoticed by anyone. It was a surprise to find the building still standing. It was in ruins but still standing. And surprisingly, it was still inhabited by humans.
Although out of the drenching rain, I kept my raincoat on with its hood still covering a good part of my face as I entered the building.
It reeked of poverty and neglect. I navigated my way around the creaking stairs with holes. Most parts of the building dripped with rain, and no one seemed to care about that.
I came to a stop in front of the apartment. Although I had bought it in my human life, it could very well be occupied by new people; after all, fifty years is a long time to abandon a human apartment. Still, I knew the things I hid would have remained there in the walls; I just needed to get them out.
