Chapter 68

After they disembarked from the carriage in London, having traveled by train and steamer from Paris to England, Antoine led Pierre directly to Edgar’s apartment, but the vampire was out. After searching the nearby drinking holes that Edgar liked, Antoine summoned his child through a telepathic link. Edgar arrived, scowling, thirty minutes later. His expression changed when he noticed Pierre.

 “Antoine, you old dog! You turned him!” he said with a smirk.

“I didn’t—” Antoine began.

“And what was your name again?” Edgar interrupted, smiling at Pierre.

“Uh…Pierre. Charmed to meet you again.”

“Charmed. How long ago did this happen? What an exciting time for you, Pierre!”

Pierre brightened at Edgar’s reaction—he had only had Antoine’s sad reaction and his friends’ concern regarding his transformation.
