Chapter 25

It was as if cold water had been poured on me by the way Zen spoke to me. I knew he would be angry that I did it, but I did not prepare myself for what he said to me. I was the one who wanted to get away from him, but when I heard the words that he was letting me go, I felt like I wanted to take back what I said. Fuck. I'm confused.

But I won't blind myself anymore. He needs me for Elizabeth; he needs me because I'm the girl from the prophecy. He needs me for my abilities.

If I stay longer in this world, I will only continue to be hurt. He's feeding me lies.

Why is it that if he can speak, he doesn't seem to have hurt me? Several times, he pretended to me that he would revive a woman important to him through me. Didn't he know how hurtful his words were?

He told me several times that he needed me to revive Elizabeth. What will happen to me when I live with the girl he really loves? He will dump me like a goddamn hot potato.
