Chapter 66
Tom laid on the couch, feeling the weight of the day’s events weighing heavily on him. He had just finished a call with Lisa. They had been discussing about Tom’s daughter and he thanked her for her contribution to making sure his daughter is okay before he invited her for dinner.
After his call with Lisa still laid on the couch, Tom dialed the number of his journalist friend, Rachel. She had always been resourceful and had an uncanny ability to uncover hidden truths. Maybe she had stumbled across something new that could shed light on the attacks.
“Hey, Rachel,” Tom said, his voice betraying both exhaustion and urgency. “How’s it going with the investigation? Any new leads?”
Rachel paused for a moment before responding. “Tom, I wish I had better news. Despite digging deep, I haven’t come across any groundbreaking leads. The only theory I have from the beginning is that these attacks might be the work of werewolves.”
