Chapter 9. Welcome, Luciana

“What are you doing here?”, someone from behind asked me rudely.

I turned back to witness Azel with a sour expression on his face.

“Azel!?, I exclaimed.

 “What you are doing here?”

“I asked first.”, he said, as rude as always.

“I was strolling with Darcian, but I got lost in the forest.”, I replied with a white lie.

“And what about you?”, I repeated my question.

“This is my home. Where do you wish me to see?”, he questioned back.

“You live in the forest.”, I said, pointing towards the forest. I blinked a few times in confusion. I heard only rogue vampires live a solitary life in the forest.

“I mean, this is my garden.”, he said, rolling back his eyes.

 “How did you end up here?”, he asked cautiously.

“Didn’t I say, I got lost.”, I said, mimicking his expression. Sleepy eyes, bored face and rolling eyes for no reason at all.

He gave a beautiful smile, knowing I was lying.
