Chapter 37
Mother Elanor sat softly with a ball of knitting wool and its pin in her hands, her eyes fixed on it as she looked up at the window nearby.
The door behind her opened, and Merga proceeded out with a bag hung over her shoulder, the chirping sound of birds filling her ears.
“I have to go now Mother, I will be back soon,” she said walking toward the door, her hair tied tenderly as it touched her waist, she wore a pair of long pants and a white shirt along with a boot, her footstep filling the house as she rested her hand on the doorknob.
“Merga,” Mother Elanor called out to her.
Mega turned to the older woman wondering what she had on her mind. “Yes Mother?” she implored, raising an eyebrow.
Mother Elanor stared at her for a while with narrowed eyes. “Try to come home before dinner,” she states, turning her gaze back to the sweater she was knitting.
Rolling her eyes, Merga nodded. “I will,” she assured her and walked out of the cottage into the woods
