Isabella’s POV
The night air was sharp against my skin, turning the exposed parts of my body numb. It didn’t even help that all I was wearing was a strapless dress that not only didn’t leave a lot to one’s imagination, but also sucked at keeping one warm.
If I had known what that bastard had planned for me, then best believe I would have picked up a jacket or something.
Wrong.
I wouldn’t have stepped out of my room at all.
I swallowed as a small flashback played in my mind.
Gregory. Blood on the floor. Dead. Just like that.
He’d shot Gregory a couple of hours ago, and for no just reason. He hadn’t done anything to him, and yet he’d killed him. If I hadn’t followed Alessandro the moment he asked, I would have been dead meat by now.
I knew that was the most reasonable thing to think, and it was true—but something else popped up at the back of my mind.
