I thought tonight was already weird as it was right now, and it was going to take me an eternity to try to forget what had happened in those walls. In fact, an eternity didn’t sound like enough time if you asked me, but just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, fate had to slam me with a very unpleasant surprise to my face.

Even a fool could tell that it wasn’t an ordinary letter, so why the hell did he want me to read it?
“Go on.” His voice cut through the air again, pulling me out of my thoughts and back to reality. I blinked a couple of times, but it did nothing to change the scene in front of me. He still wanted me to read the letter. Shit. “Read it.”
“No.” My voice came out steady, surprisingly, and I didn’t miss the way his eyebrows raised. “It was addressed to you. Not me.”
