Chapter 13
Aria sipped her milk tea, still bothered by the fact that Zerran had not given her a clear answer as to how her father had changed his mind. She glanced at Zerran, who was driving in silence, as they headed back home to the province after stopping for a meal. The food was delicious, but Aria had forgotten to ask Zerran about the details of her father's sudden change of heart.
Her father saw great potential in making the public interested in the person she was going to marry, which would benefit his political campaign. With only one year left before the election, her father planned to run for his third term as president, and he believed that the public would be intrigued by Aria's future husband if their pictures were publicized.
Aria tightened her grip on her milk tea and frowned, looking ahead. The silence in the car was deafening, and she didn't like it. "Can you play some music?" she asked Zerran, hoping to fill the silence.
