Zerran's face tightened as he listened to Lemuel on the phone. He didn't like what he was hearing. "What do you mean my father's not at home? I specifically told you to watch over him," Zerran raised his voice, gripping the phone tightly. If Lemuel was standing in front of him, Zerran might have knocked him out.

Before Lemuel could even explain himself, Zerran hung up the phone and shoved it into his pocket. He looked around, wiped the sweat off his forehead,, and realized he needed to head back to where Aria was waiting.
