Chapter 21. Face Up

Evelyn’s POV

I KISSED HIM! I can’t believe I kissed Nolan. My whole body tingled from his touch, but the other part of me was mad. Why did I let that happen? How could I be so stupid to let him in like that after everything that he had put me through?

The second we got off that boat. I ran home and didn’t even say goodbye to Nolan. Simon wasn’t anywhere to be seen, which wasn’t a surprise to me; he would know that I was pissed at him for what he did.

“Evelyn, Nolan is trying. He loves us, and he will protect us. We should let him in.” Harper piped up, and I scowled because I knew she was right. But I was scared. What if he hurt us all over again, and what about Ethan? What would Nolan say about having a son that I had kept hidden from him all this time? He would probably never forgive me for that. He had been adamant that he was protecting me by choosing that other she Wolf, yet he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about me and hadn’t taken another since.
