Sofia’s POV

He did not respond to my messages. I reached into my pants pocket and removed my phone. I waited for Leo to pick up the phone. I had to be ready to talk to him, so I took many deep breaths. The better he could hear me the faster they could understand.

“How are you doing, Sofia?” He asked.

“Sterling has been shot,” I explained as I tried to speak clearly.

“What!” He lashed out.

“I have no idea how long he has been this way. I just got home and found him lying on the concrete with so much blood.”

“Yes, but it’s shallow,” I replied.
