Chapter 48. I Am Not in the Mood
Avery’s POV
A flicker caught the corner of my eye from outside the window, and I walked onto the balcony. A gasp left my lips as my gaze fell on the beautifully set candlelit dinner table with soft music playing in the background. A dull ache spread in my chest as I saw the box of doughnuts on the table from my favorite restaurant. How come I never noticed this?
Then it hit me. Ethan had set this up, but I wouldn’t let my own differences see reason with him. I had always treated him with suspicion and like an opponent.
“Ethan!” I couldn’t stop myself as I ran out of our part of the house, searching for him as I ran down the wooden staircase.
