Ethan’s POV

“I can’t believe I started arguing with him over that! My husband is being annoying without knowing it… No Lawrenta, how can we be fighting over how to treat the staff just because I am Mrs. Lorenzo?”

I should be angry, but a smile formed on my lips when she referred to me as her husband. It felt silly, but yet I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I quietly stepped inside the bedroom, her voice raising as she continued to rant to Lawrenta.

“Sometimes, I feel like pulling his head open so I can see what is going on in his head! What is it, Lawrenta? Uh, I don’t get—ohh…” She trailed off as she turned to find me behind them. Obviously, the maid, whose name I just got as Lawrenta, was trying to signal her about my presence but she had not noticed.

“Please excuse me, sir.” Lawrenta said, scurrying away like a frightened mouse out of the bedroom.
